I have the surround view camera on my Denali. When the camera is on and moving forward it’s bright and easily visible. When I shift to reverse it dims and is nearly impossible to see without holding something above the screen.

is there a setting I need to look at or is it just something wrong I need to have the dealer look at?

Not aware of any setting. I checked my camera and it definitely doesn't dim. I wonder if there's some type of light sensor that is malfunctioning?

Take a look at the rear view camera, any water spots or dirt on the camera lenses?  Check the camera view on the rearview mirror, is it dim too?  Next turn the truck around 180 compass degrees in the same spot.  The sun, a reflection of the sun or another light source may be giving the cameras problems.

Make sure you have nothing hanging from the mirror like a parking permit or tag that blocks the front light sensor
