I don't see whats funny or bashable about recalls. I think they are a wonderful thing, it means that even though there is a potentially dangerous thing wrong with your vehicle at least the dealer has to fix it now.

It also means R&D isnt good enough to put things out the first time. We as consumers have to report problems that werent taken care of or figured out before the vehicle was available to the public.

I dont know about you, but no ones paying me to test drive my truck.

For those complaining about a manufacturer not being able to figure out EVERYTHING before they put it on sale, that's nearly IMPOSSIBLE!

In the ever more fast paced auto environment these days (which is brought on by us, the consumer!! As our tastes and needs change constantly), a manufacturer doesn't have ten years to pen, design, engineer and develop a new vehicle. In many cases, it's less than two years to go from a sketch on a napkin, to a full fledged vehicle on the showroom floor. They have to put them out this quick as the technology changes soo fast.

Combine this with the ever more complex systems and running gear todays vehicles (that once again are DEMANDED by us, the consumer), it's not shocking that something DOESN'T pass muster and ends up being recalled.

If you look at JD Powers initial quality list, GM is now ranked third, right behind Honda and Toyota. Of which, the defects per vehicle is at it's lowest point ever.

So cut the manufacturers a little slack please!

I trust when you built your trucks or performance cars in your garage and then putting them out on the road, that they were perfect!!!

Amen to that.

Take a look at our trucks, with Fuel Sending units and ABS controllers (99-00 Trucks) going bad costing us at least $1K out of pocket (after the warranty runs out). GM has fixed thousands of pickups for those two problems alone.

Considering what the competition has to offer, I'll continue to choose GM trucks
