Hotwheel Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) I was wondering if anyone could give me guidance on replacing the basic gauge cluster in a Custom to one that has the chrome trim rings around the gauges. I talked to the local Chevy parts guy and I can buy the cluster but he said it would have to be swapped buy the dealer and programed by them. I guess I'm asking if all clusters have to be programed? Picture is the cluster I want to install Edited November 13, 2020 by Hotwheel
bamorris2 Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 Check out WAMS. This is exactly what they do. I upgraded from the mid-level cluster up to the Denali cluster from them. https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com 1
Steve Martin Posted November 13, 2020 Posted November 13, 2020 I don't have any real knowledge on the new clusters, but I replaced my dad's 2004 cluster due to an issue and it probably has something to do with the mileage odometer.

Goobax Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 You’ll need to take into account that the Custom trucks do not have the steering wheel controls to access and scroll through the cluster menus. So far, no one seems to have been able to address this part in particular which would make this “upgrade” a waste of time for you for the most part

I wonder if I could just take the chrome bezel out and install it on mine
bamorris2 Posted November 25, 2020 Posted November 25, 2020 Would you want to sell your old cluster that you took out of your truck? I already did.
