96 Yukon Fuel Question

Hello there!

My name is Nick and I just obtained a 96 4 door Yukon, did some diag and the fuel pump went bad. My question being, is that there are 4 hoses in total, 1 fuel fill, 1 vent, then they join at what appears to be a vacuum box, it has 4 nipples on it, and then the other 2 hoses go to the fuel tank.

My question being, is that can I convert this to a 2 hose system instead of 4? The connector is mounted on the frame, and it appears someone has done a fuel pump previously, and they installed the worm clamps upside down making it hard to access, I got the hoses disconnected from the tank, I just want to know if I can convert this to a 2 hose system via bypassing this connector. The GM part # is 
GM 15994943. But I don’t know if this holds any mechanical value or if it was a cheap thing GM did back in the day.

I feel that if you removed any of the hoses you will end up with EVAP related problems or fuel fill problems. Any hose that is connected to the tank other than the vent line up to the fill neck would be EVAP related in my eyes.

 

Seeing the stuff on the truck is usually helps me more than some of those parts diagrams.
