Remember that lower air pressure is going to help the edge of your sidewall grab more surface too. I always run a little lower in the winter to aid with traction. Spring I go back up to a couple pounds shy of spec then let the heat increase do the rest, by august I’m a couple pounds over.

Good point. Maybe that’s why he ran them a little under this time of year.

Got the Toyo's on last week. Rode good and as quiet as the stock Bridgestone Dueler A/T's that were on it. Stayed with the stock 275/60r20 that came on it. We had a good storm come through on Saturday and got to see how they handled the heavy rain and they did really well, tried to see if I could get them hydroplane but didn't. Didn't get the snow from the storm to try them in that. Hopefully they do as well.

Happy with them so far

Looks good!  I can’t wait for some snow to try them out (55 degrees in December in MI today!). Did you paint your calipers?

Hoped that snow line was a little more south yesterday, was over visiting my daughter in Grand Rapids and only seen a little slop there.

I did the calipers with the G2 kit rather than spray. Easy to do, get extra brushes if you go this route. Did all of them with a couple of coats no problem.

For guys that have experience with these and the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, how would you say they compare? I'm thinking about upgrading to something more aggressive, mainly for appearance. These Toyos get great reviews but so do the Nittos and to me the Nittos look a lot better. But, the Toyos are cheaper and are potentially quieter and ride better based on reviews I can find.

Also, what are the chances I fit 295/65R20 under my 2-inch level with no rubbing? On the Toyos, the price difference between 275 and 295 is only $4 per tire so I figure might as well go wider for that kind of money.

Finally, where are you guys getting tires? I've been using Discount Tire Direct to compare prices. I've looked on Tire Rack a little but they don't always carry some brands.

EDIT: Tire Rack, Tire Discount, and Sam's Club all price the Toyos within pennies of each other haha. And I'm liking the tread pattern the more I look at them. I just wish the sidewalls were more aggressive.

I read reviews and somehow got swayed to go toyo. The Nitto RG is def better looking and more aggressive.

The Toyo RT is the direct competition for the Nitto RG.

Oh I don’t know that, make sense. Yeah I just don’t really need anything that rugged. They look way cooler though.

    • I understand that. The price is what it is, though. The price is what oil costs today, where our choices have led us, where supply is, and where demand is, in the market that is. Speculation is for futures, what we think the price will be, but with incomplete information at the time the price is forecast. I know you know this, but you appear to be intent on making a secondary point here about what you think the market could or should be, if only other choices.   In 1975 it became illegal to export US Crude. I'm conflicted on what the best answer is. Free markets allow export in pursuit of profit. But there is also a lot to gain by producing and consuming our own oil here. How do you reconcile it?
    • That sir is a choice. And even if it were not for all the reasons stated, this disruption has zero to do with the reality of the actual logistics and everything to do with the greed of SPECULATION. Spot price is irrelevant to reality.
    • What I think you're saying is there is supply here at home, and in Venezuela, and we could ease pricing if only it were favorable to do so.   Well, yes?   But that's not the current market. Supply isn't what could someday exist, if only, it's what producers are willing to produce and sell at a certain price point.   The national price of single family homes would come way down if we'd just slap together a few million homes this summer.   RAM and GPUs would get a lot cheaper if we just set up some factories to produce a bunch more and stopped using it to build out AI data centers.
    • The turn signal/multifunction switch is faulty.  I've seen a few of these go bad at work.
