4.6l engine noise

My 2020 trail boss custom 4.6l  sounds like a 94 cavalier. Everything that I've googled about it says its normal others not so normal.  Seems louder after it's warmed up. I know the direct injection is usually a bit louder but it sounds like its coming the bottom end more than the top end almost like a lifter tap or exhaust leak.   Any way to quiet it down? Sound dampening for the engine bay? Thicker/thinner oil, fuel additives??  Anything!?      I know the dealer will say its perfectly normal so i haven't taken it in yet.

Probably sounds pretty good for a 4.6l.

Isn't it a 4.3L? or did that change?  I almost completely forgot this v6 engine existed.

Sounds like direct injection.  It's the high-pressure fuel pump, and (from the video) it seems perfectly normal.

Normal.  Also find out really what engine you have as GM doesn't use a 4.6L in these.  4.3 V6, 5.3 V8, 6.2 V8 in the Custom Trail Boss.

 

If its a 4.3, they use 5w30.  No need for additives.  Its normal.  DI noises, etc.  Dealer will tell you the same thing.

Same engine in my Truck. if you open the hood and listen close to the top of the engine you will find its the Second High pressure fuel pump in combination with the stupid exhaust Valve thingie  rattle noise.. not to mention the STUPID Leaking exhaust screens.. 

 

Mine has  2100 miles on it . 

My truck is a second vehicle . i do find it odd that you can not here the engine is running in my  2004 3500 HD Van . it has the 6.O High Output engine as its designed for Pulling  Heavy Trailer.  235K MILES on it and it has NO tick knock Rattle  squeak . Like brand new. 

 

i have had lots of  trucks and Vans with 4.3 they seem to last forever
