Just a quick update.  Just got back from the dealer for safety inspection and infotainment software update. I had thought it was only one update but the dealer said there was a recall for the exact problem I was having. So, three software updates (all done today), now my wifi stays connected, my apps all work and update themselves as needed. If you're having this problem bring it to the dealer, they now have a fix for this problem.
