So I just picked up the Delco cabin filter for my truck since pollen is really starting to pickup, even though the current filter has only 10k on it and it's rated for 22.5k if I recall, I'm changing it sooner.

I got to the dealer on my way home from work, gave them my Vin, and they got the filter for me. When I just went to change it I noticed the color is different and so is the part number.

I have in my truck 13508023 which is the standard filter. They gave me 19338054 which looks gray and is stiffer. I haven't opened it yet and put the truck back together but of course the parts dept is now closed.

I looked up the 8054 filter and it is for and only for a 19/20 XT4 per gm parts websites, but summit racing has it listed as fitting the silverado with a note stating "with carbon ref #13508023"

So my question is, is this filter able to be used in the truck? Is it just an "upgraded" model, or just better? If so does it smell like anything, ie like carbon graphite? I don't want to open it if it needs to be returned but I am curious if it is good to be used. And I'm not using it if there is an odor associated with it.

If it has to go back the receipt says there is a 20% fee, not paying that for their mistake.

It is a charcoal impregnated filter, and is a higher quality filter than your old one. Install it without another worry.

Thanks guys.

Amazing how the parts websites don't list it as compatible.

Crazy right?  As long as it matches up the same as what you pulled out all is well.  Like stated above it is charcoal impregnated to help eliminate odors.
