I am looking for a tonneau cover for an AT4 HD that I ordered.  I would like a hard cover, but I can not device between a hard trifold, or a hard roll-up.  If I get a trifold I want it to fold all the way up against the window so that I have access to the entire bed if I need it.  Are the hard roll-up ones secure?  I will not be storing stuff in the bed, but if I put some luggage in the bed and stop to eat lunch somewhere will it be secure?  Any brands to stay away from?

So just went through this and ended up with a roll up, soft cover.  Trifolds from what I saw wont fold all the way up,  there will always be that last 1-2ft sticking out.

As for security once you lock the tail gate there really is no way to get into those unless you get the toolbox friendly ones that open both ways.  Now were talking vinyl so anybody with a utility knife can get into those things.  But with any sort of lock it keeps the honest honest and stops 80% of those out there.  I would think in general the trifold would be more secure than the roll up due to how secures.

For me I went with the roll up this time around and heres why. Always had a tri fold and in general I liked them.  My only issue is when I need the whole bed for something,  it was easy enough to take off but if I forgot to leave it home its one more thing to get in the way, take up space, and to secure with a load.  Roll ups go all the way to the window and should help this out.

Im not the guy that spends thousands on these things as they all kind of work the same, and I dont keep trucks long.

I went hard roll up.  Liked that it was flush with the bed.  Thing that you may like better about the tri-fold is that with that you may be able to leave partially open.  The roll up they recommend you roll all the way up and secure every time.

Have you had any issues with it?  I was looking at reviews and they had a decent number of bad reviews.  Does it seem like it could support weight on it.  For example like 5 inches of snow?  Thanks for the picture!

I have found a few that fold all the way up.  You can have access to the whole bed, but the window is blocked.  I also would like to use the whole bed and am looking to not pay too much.  Thanks

I live in New England, no issues at all.  It is actually really sturdy, plus I wouldn't let snow sit on it for too long since it wipes right off.  Price was good since I bought thru Chevy.com Accessories site and used my Chevy Legends 20% off discount.

I have an Undercover Flex hard cover. When folded up it doesn't sit against back of cab or window. It stands up using prop rods. Only takes up about six inches or so of bed. So far it has been water tight even when using the carwash. Plus When tail gate is closed and locked a person cannot get in.

I have the BakFlip F1 cover.  It is a fold-up and opens all the way back to the rear window.  Like @jscottl above - the last fold is secured by prop rods.

I tried the roll-up covers in the past and decided to go with a folding cover this time around.
