I have replaced the front main seal and cover assembly 4 times. Oil continues to leak from the seal. 1998 GMC c1500 4.3L has 213,****** miles. Any idea on why it keeps leaking? Has a new harmonic balancer also

I’ve ordered a sleeve, I’ll update when it’s installed, thank you.

is that an oem seal or aftermarket, these trucks are very picky on what parts you put on it, my suggestion would be get a gm seal and try that, and on the bigger 5.7 they tell you not to reuse cover , replace both when doing seal , your 4.3 might be the same way

Your welcome. Seals are also picky about the finish. The Speedi Sleeve will have that finish. Happy motoring.

Got the sleeve installed yesterday, doesn’t appear to be leaking but have to take care of an oil pan leak, after that I will know for sure.

you should have dropped the oil pan when replacing timing cover , its the only way to get it to seal , timing cover install first then oil pan , otherwise it will never seal correctly
