Hi all i have a 2007 1500 thgat wont crank. The other night i drove it fine then tge next morning it wouldnt crank. Other symptoms are no radio, window wont work, dash takes a few seconds to turn on, service 4 wheel drive, service airbag, dome light doesnt come on wgen i open thge driver door but comes on when i open the back door, and there might be more but i cant think of any at the moment. The door locks and blower fan both still work. When i turn the key nothing happens. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Battery?

You don't say how old it is.

Check the condition of battery cables and their connection battery and ground. For sure have the battery load tested

Sounds like a tough issue.  The battery is only 7 mos old, and Napa doesn't usually deal in cheap stuff.  Still, a battery can be defective by any brand.  I would start with having battery fully tested --- load, short inside the battery.  Other than that it will probably take a good mechanic to find that issue.

Any wiring that you can see thats been chewed on by mice?

Is power getting to the spark plugs?  If not, you might be able to trace it back from there.

If it didn't try to start when you tried to jump it then there is an issue with the wiring somewhere.  Like stated above.  Make sure the cables are good.  Sometimes corrosion can be inside the cable casing and you can't see it but it stops the flow of electricity.

I forgot to mention that the line under my park reverse neutral and drive isnt there anymore to indicate which gear i am in. Also i had my rear main seal replaced 2 weeks ago. Can something have gotten pinched under there while they were working on that??

quite possibly a ground didnt get tightened or got damaged in the process

You need to start a process of elimination. Check all wiring. Make sure no damage from work performed. Check starter.

Battery cables etc.

    • In addition to a cell or wifi connection, the infotainment needs to be enabled to download software updates. That's a toggle within the system settings.   But...if the truck was prevented from receiving updates in a past life, missing a bunch of updates may mean it won't go back and download all of those because they're not available or the system is too far out of date.   If a formal recall depends on a software update, the recall for that truck remains in an open status until it's applied. The dealer would need to apply the software update in that instance.   Most updates downloaded and applied via the infotainment aren't recalls/safety recalls, they're enhancements and usability fixes which aren't critical.
    • Recently I've been getting a message, "New Brake Pads Detected. Reset Brake Pad Life?", But I haven't had the pads replaced and the truck only has 28,000 miles. The Brake Pad Life shows Front 64% and Rear 79%. I select NO to resetting the brake pad life and the message goes away but comes back at the nest restart.   I stopped by the dealer and was told that it sounds like a software glitch that would require reprogramming. Even though I have the extended warranty, they tell me that reprogramming is not covered unless a module was actually bad and needed to be replaced. Simply reprogramming is not covered. So, they want $200.00 just to diagnose the problem. If it turns out no bad module, another charge on top of that to do the reprogramming. If the cause was an actual bad module, everything would be covered under the warranty.   Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Should this issue be covered under the warranty?   Thanks
    • NHT is diesel only, correct.     The GVWRs for NHT on 3/4 ton bring them to the same numbers as many of the 2WD 1 tons.  A crew 4x4 standard 3/4 with NHT is 11,750lbs, a 1 ton same cab/box/4x4 is 12,100lbs.     Hubs and hub bearings are the same for 11.5" and 12" axles.  Housing, diff carrier and ring/pinion are larger for the 12".   All gas use the 11.5" axle, 3/4, 1 ton and 1 ton DRW.
    • Yes, I connected it to my home wifi.
    • For most of you, this is probably outside your realm of interest, but, maybe you can appreciate it. The hood and wheels aren't something I'm interested in, but someone made a very rowdy Audi S4... amazing sound.       These were/are very fun cars for the money.   Not going to lie, I'm getting an itch to own a newer Audi RS3. The 5-cylinder will be changing, or going away, at the end of this year.
