You guys think a 2014 Silverado 1500 LTZ with 190k miles for 17k is a good buy??

I wouldn’t do it. I paid 27K for my loaded Texas edition new. And paid 6K for my 02 z-66 Avalanche. With 168K. It’s a cream puff. I’d keep looking.

Why would you not? Too many miles? This is my first truck btw

Too many miles. Every truck is inflated because of shortages. Look up potential problems with 14 Chevy trucks. If you can handle potential repairs that may arise  go for it.

Would you say it’s priced to high? Cause it was originally at 18,500 and they dropped it down to 17k

Welcome to the site.

Do you have a link to where the truck is being sold?

You have not given a lot of information about the rig.

You obviously want it, go for it. And engine for that truck is 12-14 installed. Cylinder deactivation on those is a crap shoot. GM has already changed how that works. I wouldn’t buy a engine with that regardless of the mileage.

Not a bad looking truck.

Price seems to be in line, lower than other trucks because of miles and just 2WD.

Have you had a chance to drive it? Any records available? They list it as a one owner.

Gonna test drive tomorrow and they showed us proof of the clean title and yeah it’s 1 owner I’m pretty sure

Report back with some pictures if you buy it.

Good luck!

Today's low vehicle supply not-with-standing, $17k for a nearly 200k mile 2wd truck seems crazy.  If this is being financed, you'll likely be paying it off long after the vehicle has reached its end of life.  It *looks* nice, but looks can be deceiving; my friend started a simple tune-up on a customer's '75 Beetle Convertible with perfect paint that turned into a full blown restoration after he found that the heater channels were 2x4s glassed into place, and the "new" floor pans weren't even riveted into place, they were siliconed!  At that mileage, you're looking at wear on every moving part: engine, transmission, axles, differential, suspension... so you'd better plan to have several grand on the side for immediate repairs.  For perspective, I purchased my 2016 over 2 years ago as a CPO for $24.5k with 70k miles.

KBB puts that truck between $10-14.5k.  Closer to 10 seems more accurate, I've seen 4x4 trucks with half the mileage (of all brands) on CL in that price range.  Do you *need* a full size truck, or will a mid-size do the job?  You may or may not be able to find one in that size for cheaper; unless you need the tow capacity of a full-size, a mid-size is a much more convenient truck to drive/park every day IMO.

You're money, but I would pass.

Unless you're in need of a truck right now wait.

My brother in law is a long haul GM truck and suv owner. He buys CPOS mostly. Usually the wife drives them first to about 200K. Then he drives them. The newest one gets the bulk, trips etc. 200k to 300k is a crapshoot. In reality 150K up. All his looked good. Add in all the electronics, cylinder deactivation. It’s just more to go wrong. Look up the most reliable on the net. Newer GMs are out of the top ten. With the tundra at number 1 for full size.
