Hey fellas, I’m stumped on my situation at the moment. I just got the truck about 2 weeks ago and the check engine lights keeps coming back on after replacing cats,o2 sensors and spark plugs. Clear the code after every project and she keeps coming back. Can cheaper fuel cause this p0430 code? I’m almost out of my current tank and wanna know if any of you have had troubles with this specific code. I can go more into detail if you guys have questions, but this code is driving me nuts! Thank you

Sounds like aftermarket Cat's, they can be a problem, check reading on downstream O2, should always be above .450 v. at temp. (.5 to .8 v.)

You could always try spacing the sensor out of the exhaust stream more to see if that stops the code from coming back.

What would you use to space the sensors?

The cats are aftermarket yes, but they were built to match original gm ones by an exhaust place here in town so not a brand aftermarket. Even with the sensors being new it will mess with the temp?

They are called spark plug non-foulers, they are the same thread pitch/size as the o2 sensors. If you stack them and drill out the one hole it will make like a 1in spacers so the sensors sits out of the exhaust stream more than before. Sometimes that will stop it from reporting that code.

Looked em up online and I like the idea, but is that ever going to cause long term effects on the truck in any way? Seems like a last resort, but honestly I’m pretty much there already lol
