Is there a site to input information to determine if a newly ordered truck is currently being built without going through the dealer to see what the status is?

Thanks

Are you tracking a '22 HD truck?  Please let us know your search reveals.  You will be the first one I've seen on this site with one underway!

Yes ,  a 22 2500 CC LB.  I'll check with the dealer tomorrow for an order number.

Apparently July 21st was the start date to build the 22's

All anyone but the dealer can tell is the current order status.  GM chat will not know more than the dealer.  Btw, the order system is down every Sunday so no one has access to it..

Ok thanks. I'll check with the dealer.

He put the order in and was going to call if it didn't go through but no call so I'm hoping all is good.

Dquest, I am looking forward to following your build's progress.  It will be a good indicator of the timing between stages that the rest of us can expect.  Hope you don't mind keeping us updating as things move along.  Thanks in advance!

Spoke with the dealer. He will get a build date this week but order was put in June 24th and accepted in the system ...  update to follow

That's great news!  You must be excited.  Looking forward to hearing your build date and following it as you move through the process.

Wait...Order placed June 24 and the truck is expected Aug 23?!  2 months!  That's not bad at all considering what's going on in the market right now.  You must be excited!  At my dealership I am next in line for the 22 HD orders (3 were before me) so if this Thursday has an allocation that fits my order I'm officially in the waiting game.  I just read this morning that GM Flint is going down next week so that won't help matters any but they are working 3 shifts this week so that will hopefully help clear out any early orders that were put in.  Time will tell.  Congrats and keep us updated as you get closer.  Hopefully your sales guy does a good job keeping you updated.

Keep in mind dealers have been known to string customers along with bs especially when they start giving dates which they have NO control over.  Friend has  a Yukon Denali on order since early May and they told him is would be here in Aug and he says the told him point blank it was built. Just this week they told him the order was cancelled by GM and if he wants they can resubmit for a 2022 but no idea when it will arrive or the price.

Try to get the dealer to give you an event code and compare to this list;

·        1000 Order On Hold at Dealership

·        1100 Preliminary Order Accepted.  (Needs dealer allocation or the order WILL NEVER move)

·        2000 Order Accepted by GMAD

·        2500 Order preferenced  (“Picked Up”), Sent to Production Control

·        3000 Order Accepted by Production Control

·        3100 Order Available to Sequence

·        3300 Order Selected and scheduled by Assembly Plant (Target Production Week usually available now)

·        3400 Order broadcasted (in the assembly plant production system), build process is underway and locked in sequence to the end of the line.

·        3800 Vehicle Produced, it’s come off the production line.  VIN now available.

·        4000 Vehicle Available to Ship

·        4104 Bailment Invoice Created (Shipping doc’s)

·        4B00 Bayed (“B”, not 😎 Parked waiting on transportation

·        4D00 Bayed for Quality Control (unknown time period)

·        4106 Bailment Released (Rc’vd by Transport Co.)

·        4150 Vehicle Invoiced to Dealer

·        4200 Vehicle Shipped (In Transit)

·        4300 Intermediate Delivery by truck (off-site rail head, up-fitter, etc )

·        4V03 Estimated Delivery Date

·        4800 Rail Ramp Unload, at the final distribution center. Delivered by truck to dealer

·        5000 Vehicle Delivered to Dealer

·        6000 Vehicle Delivered to Customer (or dealer reported sale to GM)

·        9000 Order Cancelled

Hey Elcamino I find that table to be very informative.  Is there a way you can add the expected time between key milestones in the sequence?  I know these days it's hard to predict but an estimate is better than nothing.  For example how long to get from 2000 to 3000, or how long to get from 3300 and 3800, or maybe you have an idea of the duration between each line item....something like that.  That will give some of us that have no idea about how long it could take.  Thanks!  I am learning a lot from you.

    • Folks, Have a great new 2026 WT  (std cab, 2.7/4WD) w/base 40/20/40 mech adj bench "fake buckets"  (with lower and upper center console) heavy vinyl seats.  Overall the seats are very comfortable and the vinyl is heavy and appears less likely to 'split out'. Am very tall (6'5")  + a bad back/osteporosis/former hyperparathyroidism so ease/range of movement is a bit restricted.  The truck rides a bit high and I use a nerf step bar w/my left foot to step in, then I put right foot/leg in, drag my butt in  & get seated.  Worked fine in my 2018 RAM quadCab. But I end up dragging my butt over the left raised sidecushsion area of vinyl seat, and due to texture there's fair amount of traction on slide inward.  (ArmorAll didn't improve.) If the seat were even ~1/2" - 3/4" lower it'd be helpful, but base seats just have the forward/backward underseat bail and the side lever for tilt which really doesn't affect seat height.   I really don't want to 'de-puff' the left side sidecushion forming the  fake 'bucket'. I know one company sells 'seat elevator blocks':  but is there a simple way of lowering the height of the driver seat instead?   Thanks Bill W San Jose
    • I have a basic 2026 1500 WT  (2.7L/4WD reg cab shorttbed). Comfy, generally happy with electronics/radio - but is there a way I can add switches to steering wheel right-side position (curr. empty) so I can adjust volume, push phone button to voice dial, etc? Bill W San Jose
    • The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.
    • So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?
    • Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.
