Engine fuel leaks

OK, here's my situation.  In the past, I have seen GM Customer Care agents answering comments on this forum.  I'm hoping they or someone involved with a dealer can answer this?

 

I have a 2014 Silverado K1500 LT, 5.3, automatic.  I have been looking at GM service documents on fuel odors, and 13331 in particular.  It states in that document that certain 2014 models had a 'misbuilt' SIDI high pressure fuel pump.  And that any vehicle that was in for any service during the warranty period was to be verified for this bad pump:

"All involved vehicles are identified by VIN in the Global Warranty Management System – Investigate Vehicle History Application. Dealership technicians should always check this site to confirm vehicle involvement prior to beginning any required inspections and/or repairs."   

 

They were to verify this before any work the vehicle was brought in for was to be started.

 

I am curious whether my vehicle ever was verified, as it appears in the document that it's up to the technician to do this.  I was never told that anything like this was verified.  And I did complain about the very loud ticking sound, which they said it was the fuel pump and that it was normal.  So does mine fall in the group that by VIN would have told them the high pressure fuel pump should have been replaced?

 

I am seeing in the forums also that people that have had the pumps replaced, that it reduced the ticking sounds down to almost nothing.
