Vice City Help...

I got Vice City for xBox as a Christmas gift. I am at the part where you have to protect Diez or whatever, where the Cubans start shooting...how do you beat this part? He or I gets killed everytime! Any tips? What weapon should I use? I tried the automatic weapons, but they don't always work efficiently enough, nor does the shot gun. I also used the chainsaw, but it is clumsy.

Well, I finally beat it. As the bad guys' cars pulled up, I shot up the hoods so they would explode. Then I followed the guy on the bike for a while, but ditched it for a large car which I killed him with.

VC kicks ass.

I bought VC for PS2 over the summer when I needed something to waste my time on. It is the best video game I have ever played without a doubt. Kept me busy for awhile too, that game takes a long time to get to 100% completion.

Yeah, I'm only at like 10% now.

I have another question...

where do you find the "FBI Rancher" (black Suburban). It showed it in the strategy guide I got today, but I coulden't find one. I looked all over the mainland and especially the airport for one, but never found one.

The best way I found to get FBI vehicles, was to go to the nearest Pay 'n Spray and start shooting people (especially cops) until you get a wanted level high enough to get the FBI after you. Then just steal their car and drive it into the Pay 'n Spray to get your wanted level back down.

Good idea.

I found the FBI Washington behind a pizza place, but I want the Suburban.

I'm having trouble on the "Autocide" mission, but I think the rocket launcher should solve my problems there.

I finally got my FBI Rancher! It took some planning, and a lot of close calls, but I got it. I bought that condo on the mainland that has three garages. In one I parked a flatbed truck as a get away vehicle. Then I took the helicopter over one building (for the lower roof to shoot from). I started causing chaos from there, then once I had five stars, flew back to my building for more armor and to reduce my star level. The FBI agents became calm once I dropped my star level, so I tossed a few out of a Rancher and drove it into one of my garages. Then I tried to get the flatbed out to get to the bribes to reduce my stars, but it got stuck, so I grabbed a Moonbeam and went on a chase until my stars were gone. A lot of work, but that FBI Rancher is one sweet truck!

It is.

I took the FBI Rancher for a test drive. It is fairly quick and handles pretty good for its size. The neat thing is that you never see another one (unless your get five or six stars, then you will see a lot of them chasing you), but that is a downside too. You better hope yours doesn't get blown up or you will be having another standoff with police/FBI to get a new one! It doesn't have a radio, which is a minor downside, but it does have a police scanner and allows you to do "Vigilate" missions where you chase and kill criminals for a small cash reward. It looks really cool as well. I probably will not be driving the one I have much because I don't want to risk loosing it.

BTW - for anyone who wants to get the FBI Rancher the way I did, a rocket launcher is a must! There is one on the mainland at the "Hooker Inn Express" near the airport. You WILL need the rocket launcher to shoot down the police helicopters. Stock up on ammo too and make sure you have armor.
