Lost FOB Issue

Wondering if anybody knows what to do if your out of cell phone range and you happen to lose your fob. In the good old days use to just carry a spare key in the wallet now what do you do when your 100 miles from civilization it's 40 below outside and you drop your fob in 4 feet of snow. Customer service and the stealer have no response  so far in this example of engineers spending HOUR troubleshooting  possible scenarios with their fool proof systems. Anybody have a solution?

Wait till spring thaw? What does no cell coverage have to deal with this scenario? Call someone to bring your spare fob to you?

 

I've been thinking of putting my 3rd fob in a water proof Faraday bag and zip tie it to the spare tire.

I mean...that's a bit of a strange and specific situation.

I don't know anyone who carries a spare key around in their wallet? Maybe in like 90's and early 2000's? But for the past 10 years, most keys are fobs either keyless or not, but still pretty large fobs that can't fit in a wallet.
