Hi guys

I just traded my 2002 dodge ram for a 2004 Z71. I gotta tell ya those Dodges are pure junk.I owned it for 1 year and listen to these problems.

 

1.transmission leak at front pump seal.in for repair 4 times and still leaked

 

2.driver seat lumbar support broke 4 times.

 

3.Engine vaccum leak 3 times

 

4.rear main oil leak 1 time

 

5.tailgate had rust forming on edges

 

6.ignition switch went bad

 

7 radiator leaked coolant

 

There are countless other problems that this truck had.Finally after seeing the chevy commercials with all the rebates I decided to come back to chevy.I have always drove chevys and always had great luck.

So now im back and I love this truck.I got the 5.3 and cant get over how much faster it is than the dodge.I also drove a Hemi and I really dont see too much of a difference to the 5.3.

Anyway I am looking foward to keeping up on this message board and taking advantage of some of the ideas here.Fortunatly a 6" lift is going on it in about 2 months.......

Great job for "getting outta Dodge" and comming back to the real world. Though I must admit, I love the Cummins Diesel engine.

Glad to see you came to your senses, and got rid of the Dodge. I once considered one, and then remembered all my friends who had tranny & engine probs with theirs. Of course, from time to time you will experience this with any manufacturer...it just seems there is a consistency with Dodge vehicles.

 

Anyhow, welcome to the board. I'm sure you will enjoy it and find lots of good info. By the way, be sure and snap some before and after pics of your truck. That 6" lift should make a world of difference. Also, you can use Ford keys to get a little extra clearance on the frontend (it might help squeeze in some bigger tires).
