2016 remote start activation kit

So I have a 2016 2500 crew cab Silverado and I bought a remote start activation kit but it says it's for a 1500 not a 2500. It comes with a new latch and harness, 2 fobs and a programming code . Will this still work for my 2500. Truck has keyless entry

Can't say for certain. On something this new, I would think not, due to the complexities of all the modules and how they communicate with each other. Global-A systems can be a nightmare with this sort of thing. Theoretically it SHOULD be the same, since the engines are the same, but I'm sure different transmissions and transfer cases have different programming, and that all has to play together with the engine computer.

 

I know on these global-A vehicles, just swapping modules between like vehicles can brick an entire system! It's an extreme anti-theft measure GM created that causes severe headaches for techs, and absolute wallet-emptying nightmares for owners. That scares me installing anything like this that integrates with any module.
