Just picked up a 2022 AT4 with 3.0 diesel and I want to undercoat my truck as I live on a dirt road and in Michigan, this means the truck will get copious amounts of salt/sodium chloride/brine/etc on it both on the dirt roads after resurfacing as well as all winter long on dirt and paved roads. I've been doing a lot of research into undercoating and it sounds like it is widely known now that hard undercoating, such as rubber undercoating products, lock in moisture and cause more harm than good and the new thing is "oil undercoating" which usually means Lanolin-based coating.

If anyone here has applied Fluid Film, WoolWax, or Blaster Surface Shield to their trucks please let me know if you applied over factory wax and if it caused factory wax to come off or if the wax stayed on fine. I saw one report of this in a single thread from long ago but I imagine more folks out there have to be using one of these products as well so trying to check how worried I should be about overspray on wax frame.  I'm also looking for any tips on particular nooks and crannies to keep an eye out for. Did anyone apply it to the drain holes in door? If so any rubber door seal swelling afterwards?  Any spots I should avoid spraying it?

I've used Fluid Film since new on my 16 and have no complaints. I try to avoid the waxed areas due to concerns I've read about it degrading the wax. So far so good.

I didn't get time to do the underneath fully, but I did behind the rear wheel wells when I installed the Husky Liner plastic liners and sprayed before and after I put the step boards on. I used Blaster Corrosion Stop. It's half the price of Fluid Film or others. I did some research of some people testing it on YouTube and it had as good or better results as the more expensive brands. It's safe for plastics/rubber and electronics.

Interesting, did you know Blaster just came out with something called surface shield?  I actually picked up a gallon of Blaster surface shield as well as Woolwax and Fluid Film, we have two vehicles and I have a tractor and ATV I plan to spray so it'll all get used one way or another.  The surface shield is getting some great reviews on youtube so I think I'll start with that, Blaster seems to make good stuff.

When I got my truck in May that stuff was being tested and not out for retail sale. Someone on YouTube had a test quart or so of it but didn't have any information as to when it would be available at retailers. It's hard enough finding anything besides FluidFilm around here.

I would be interested to know how Blaster Surface Shield behaves on the factory wax.  The video review I saw was on a Colorado which have painted (e-coat?) on the frame.

I don't know if you are sticking with only FF, WW and BSS, but I use Corrosion Free 3000 on the wax and so far so good.  Did it since new, annual re-application.  I did find it slowly moves down to the bottom face of the frame.  Makes it look bumpy.  Had some wax fall off after being on a lift for service (at the lift points), but I touch those up with Nox-Rust X-121B the same day.  I also never pressure wash the frame.  I give it a garden hose rise if need be, done it twice to get the dandelion fluff off.

I don't drive much since COVID.  But I did drive, when I needed to, through our well seasoned salted and brine roads for 2 winters.  My spare has some salt on it.  Photos are from today, sorry for the bad angles.  Don't feel like getting on the cold ground.

The Blaster Corrosion Stop doesn't have any effect on the factory coating on the frame since it's a waxy substance anyways. There were a couple thin spots or where I had grabbed the frame and it came off when I was installing my running boards. I just covered the spots with the Blaster and have had no issues so far.
