iPhone 13 Pro wireless charging not working with MagSafe case.

My 2017 Sierra came with wireless charging on the console. While it would not work with an iPhone 7 I was looking forward to having it work with the iPhone 13 Pro I upgraded to.  While it will connect and charge to the new iPhone (without a case)  once I slip the MagSafe case on the iPhone it will not connect or charge.  However on my Son's 2018 Sierra it does charge in the MagSafe case.  Is there a difference in the wireless components between these two year models?

Think so, 17 still had the single coil charger, and they started the triple coil in the 18 model year.

part of the problem is that in the case, it will not lay flat, the case is too big to go all the way in the charging area . that is the problem in my 16 silverado

Thanks for the answers!  I suspected there was some difference between components.  I'll see if I can find a proper 3 coil replacement.
