I have a braking problem in my 3500, it's a single wheel 4x4 with 64000 miles, I took it in for a oil change and tire rotation and when I got it back the front end shakes upon braking. It doesn't do it all the time and can go for days without doing it and I suspect something like the ABS system, everyone advises it's a rotor but if that was the case it would do it all the time. If your wondering why I don't just take it back to the dealer during the oil change there was some bad blood over them trying to up sell me with a cabin filter that I questioned why the mechanic was in my cab removing the cabin filter for a oil change, this also created hour longer wait after I was called in saying it was done, I actually think something was sabotaged with the abs and I just haven't found it yet. I have rotated the tires back and looked at the rotors and pads they basically look new as the truck stays in a garage unless pulling equipment and stays in town never braking with a load at highway speed. any Ideas? Any Chevrolet recalls on this anyone knows of?

I have a thread started with something similar.  I have this wobble mostly when i go over a bump and brake.  It was really bad before i did my brakes.  I did new rotors and pads, its better but not gone.  I have gotten new calipers becasue I suspect it to be something with slide pins sticking.  I have greased them and they look fine, but i have hard time turning wheel with truck up (spinning).  It should spin freely.  So i think when i go over bums and brake the fact they are already clamped some that they are having different rotations than each other and thus the wobble.  After i change the calipers i will post back on my reply see if it was it.  But i would check your calipers, and/or pins.

No sabotage, no recalls.

Its probably from the tire rotation.  You could have an out of balance issue, improperly torqued wheel, bent rim.

Lots of places include a service inspection as part of an oil change service.

Sometimes they will find something else that needs to be changed or repaired.

They do it because lots of owners may not even know there are other things to check (like a cabin filter).

We'll do those inspections when we start working on my friend's new truck this week. We expect the new tires from 4Wheelonline tomorrow so we have to finish the headlight installation today.

update:  after installing the BDS 6.5" lift kit the wobble is gone.  I suspect it was the shocks in part with the calipers i had already replaced.
