On a 2017 Silverado, what are those U-shaped cups under the front subframe for? Can I safely cut them off?

I want to remove the plastic air dam on the front bumper but these are visible from the front and it looks tacky.

Someone can (and most certainly will) correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe those are there to locate and lift the frame during assembly.

I wasn't happy with that large front air dam either. But are you aware that it's actually 2 pieces and you can remove just the bottom piece? That's what I ended up doing and like it much better. I ended up removing the entire air dam to separate the pieces. It was a bit tedious but is fairly easy to do...
