My brother buys old 70s early 80s dodge trucks to restore. He has his original 79 little red truck. He bought a low mileage city truck years ago with a big I guess it’s propane tank. The stuff doesn’t go bad. It starts easily runs like a champ. He decided to just leave it as a backup. He filled the tank painted the truck and put antique tags on it. Just in case.

sounds like a good prepper truck, you'll always have a fuel source to drive on and heat the house and cook with..

At my company we ran propane on our chevy trucks and the only issue we had was the sensor that would detect propane over regular fuel would fail and cause the trucks to not run. If we ran it full time it probably wouldn't of been a issue.

what kinda milage did you get, and what model truck was LPG powered?

My guess will be 2500/3500 with the CNG/LPG conversion for the 6.0 engines.  You could order them directly from GM with the conversion equipment installed, not sure if the 6.6 gas has that option these days.  Gas mileage is definitely lower than gasoline but if you have access to easy CNG/LPG filling it can definitely be worth.  I know the garbage trucks in my area run of CNG these days, they have big signs on the side of them advertising that fact.
