I have an 04 SR 5, with A/C, pwr brks/ strg,, windows, door locks. I suppose THEY ALL came that way; I donno.

So, I'm sure at least some of the membership has installed a back up cam in there S Truck.

Where did you dill the hole for the video wire?

The PO has a Boom-BOOM stereo in the truck and lights on a roof rack. The stereo has cabling that goes out to the battery and the lights topside too. They go across the door seal! Not exactly professional. I'm taking that stuff out, I'm not into Boom-Boom sub woofers in a what amounts to little more than a small closet. Any one interested in the gear? It's all new, still on the market. PM me if you're interested.

DNA, both my 95 base s10, and my 02 silverado 1500 I went in the cab vent with the back up camera wire and got the 12 volt power from the reverse light wire. In the s10 I hace the video in the rear view mirror so I went around the back window and up in the headliner to the mirror. Works like a champ for 5 years now.

Thanks for the info Scotty!  I don't have a mirror like that, I got the radio so I need to go through the firewall. You say you went through a cab vent? How exactly did you do that?

Where IN GA?

I believe he is referring to vent that is in back of cab in between cab and bed.  My recommendation is run your wire along the rout of your frame rail along with your rear lights. Then find where the main power wires are leading back into your firewall to your fuse panel. They usually use a rubber type protector. I have ran fuel pumps this way back thru fire wall. Also can find where the antenna wire leads thru fire wall, if you han get thru that way, it puts your wire by the radio. Gives you couple better routes this way.

Yeah, the wire has been run along the frame rail with the Vehicles wire bundle. Right now the end (that goes into the radio) is next to the pwr brake booster. I am looking for safe locations to drill a hole for the RCA jack and wire to pass through the firewall. I don't want to hit anything.

If you can trace where your antenna

Wire goes thru fire wall, that wire will be bigger than you video wire. Should have a piece of rubber around it that if removed should make hole bigger.  Other wise, around by the glove box area on right shouldn't be an issue. Hard part would be getting around A/C parts by firewall.

Sounds like why the other guy went thru cab vent.

OK, The back of the cab has a Plastic Vent in the Center a few inches below the rear window. I unbolted the Bed, Jacked it up a couple of inches then fed the video feed wire from the camera (I did wrap the wire with some chafe resistant tape) The Wire actually slid right in the vent. From there I went around the window and  followed the cab Interior light wires and went to the mirror.

My 02 Silverado Extended Cab I did similar, Through the Vent(there are 2) under the carpet to the door jam plastic molding up to the drivers side foot well over to the center behind the dash and console to the video jack of the Stereo.

I over Thought it for a while, I am not a fan of drilling holes in my vehicles, but it was easier than I made it out to be.

I do regret getting a single din stereo in the s10 but...  I am near Augusta, Ga.   Evans. Moved here from Long Island, NY 17

years ago and I won't EVER go Back!!!

When I say "Through the Vent" Of Course removing the interior trim and pulling back the carpeting on the rear wall.

Sorry for not being clear.

Through the Firewall would work Also, The way Niners routed his is very good, I do run wires that I add with bundles or factory wiring and I always use new Wire looms, that's cheap insurance for protectionn of the wires to prevent any chafing.

Good Luck
