2001 Silverado Remote Programming problem

Hi everyone!

Ok here goes.

My daughter just bought a used 2001 silverado that the previous owner had lost the remotes.

I wasn't sure which remote it came with so I bought both KOBUT1BT ( 157328030) and KOBLEAR1XT (15042968).

I can get into programming mode by the normal way:  shut doors, insert key, hold down unlock on drivers side, cycle on-off-on off, release unlock and truck does cycle lock unlock.

I then press lock unlock on fobs all the way up to a minute but nothing happens.

Have tried both sets of remotes a half a dozen times each , both have new batteries but still cannot program them.

Any thoughts on what to do next?

Oh, I have even disconnect the main battery and reconnected but same results.
