Drilling Chrome

When you have to drill a hole in something that is chrome plated, like a bumper, is there any special procedure for it? Are there any problems with the chrome plating flaking or peeling?

I have never had a problem with it...Just use a punch, and a BFH first so your bit doesn't go to Texas when you start drilling.

 

If it's old, and has some subsurface rust it might flake, or if you drill from the back....But I doubt it would flake very badly.

Yep, same as drilling painted surfaces.
