I have been hit with one of those, and it must have been a lot more powerful than the one they are using, because it knocked me out cold for about 15 minutes.

Wingnut, I told you not to tell donut jokes to the police!!!

I won't ask why you got hit with one of those. Anway, we don't have tasers, though there's talk of going to them. We just got pepper spray and asp's last year. For the spray training, you'd take an exposure to it, then navigate through our city maint. garage and fire a Glock loaded with simmunition.

The method of exposure was to rub some pepper on a pad down the side of your face and into the corner of your eye. Well I felt the heat on my face at first, but nothing in my eye. Which I figured if I blinked I could work it in there, and the whole idea of the exercise was to learn to function after suffering an exposure. Long story short, I blinked and let out with a few colorful words as it stung in my eye nicely. Would I do it again, yes...never hurts(bad pun) to know the effects of what you're using and potentially exposing others to.

I wasn't doing anything bad to get the taser, just standing in the wrong place, in the bar, next to the wrong tool....He thought it would be funny....He wasn't laughing at the cuffs they slapped on him though.

They usually don't laugh then. Along the same lines, turn down the street beside one of our west end bars(the 20-something area of town) and see 1 goof standing in the lot relieving himself, to which I say, "Wrong place, wrong time." So I write him for DCI and release him to his buddy the bar manager. Not 5 minutes later, Scott, the guy who backed me up, stops a drunk 20-something guy walking down the main street about 10 blocks or so from where I was. Arrests the guy for DCI and takes him in. Sure enough, the same bar manager comes to take custody of him at the station.

And last week, in a shining moment, get sent to that same bar for a fight in the lot. I speak with 2 guys who are 1/2 of it. I ask why they didn't call, to which the 1 goof replies he didn't know what number to call. And in true "episode of Cops" fashion, I shine my maglight on the rear fender which reads "Dial 911" and say, "I think a 6 year old could figure that one out"

Thanks, I'll be here all week.
