shifting woes...

As I coast around 1500rpm's and decide to punch it a little, the truck seems to not want to speed up. It's almost like it sits there, rpm's go up, and then it drops down a gear and flat out runs like a raped ape ! But then sometimes it won't downshift at all, just speeds up in the gear it's in. Could this be do to the fact that I have oversized tires and different gearing without reprogramming the shifting points? Going up through the gears it runs great, it's just when it needs to downshift, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Any thoughts? Chris

That's a good possibillity... All kinds of strange anomolies have been known to happen when installing larger tires on these computer controlled vehicles.

 

The problem could also be totally isolated on it's own, like a TPS starting to go bad...
