Hello first time posting here, my drivers rear wheel/ hub has been making this sound usually everyone morning when initially driving, doesn’t do it when I back out of the driveway but starts shortly after taking off forward, it doesn’t matter the weather out it generally does it after it sits, more so when parked on a incline/decline. Dealership can never get it to make the sound to troubleshoot, so I tried to take a short video of the sound it was making this morning when taking off, any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's there any way that you could upload to YouTube and post the link instead. I, as everyone else should be, weary of downloading files from forums.

I would type out the conditions where your truck will make the noise.  Be specific with respect to everything - parking brake being used, amount of gas in the gas tank, position of the truck (as you mentioned it will usually make it when parked on an incline - how is it parked, front end pointed uphill or downhill; parking brake set, etc.)  Print this off and ask the service writer to attach it to the work order and to enter read attached letter for more specific information from vehicle owner.  Do not let the service writer summarize what you have entered.  If the service writer gives you any static ask to speak to the Manager of the Service Department (not just the service writer's immediate supervisor).  If that does not work, call Chevrolet Customer Service right then and there and tell them that the service department will not include your observations so the service technician can have that information.

Be as specific as you can be.  Do not assume anything.  You will be giving the technician a welcomed helping hand.

Also let them hear the sound and be prepared to share the file with a technician or two.

Also, be prepared to leave the truck at the dealership for at least 2 days.  That way if they cannot duplicate it the first day, they might be able to do so later that day or the next morning.

I've had excellent luck using this approach a couple of different times with a "strange problem" and the service department guys really appreciated the information as it allowed them to rapidly identify the cause.

Good Luck!

    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
