If you are connecting the wire from the cargo switch to the Ford switch and then grounding the other wire (ground) on the Ford switch then where does the Ford harness come into play? Is the Ford switch a latching switch or a monetary switch?

Only reason I used the harness was just to make it simple to connect to the Ford switch. You could do it without it or any other momentary switch.

It's a ground signal that goes to bcm.

Thanks for the confirmation!

That was my assumption.  Thank you for the feedback.  This is definitely going into the project list.

You don't have to cut a hole if you use one of the round holes at the top of the bed corners with the rubber plugs. A 19mm round waterproof momentary switch will fit in fine in the existing hole. I have the switch and hopefully enough wire. I just have to find time to run the wire inside to the BCM.

Yeah I had seen that before and was an option. The switch was given to me and I think it looks factory especially in the location I put it.

I'm just not a fan of cutting into sheet metal on a new vehicle. I live in Michigan where they salt the hell out of the roads and that would be a perfect spot for rust to start.

Hello, I would like to do this mod to my ZR2 specially because the switch acts the same as the interior switch and turns off if you forget.

But I'm a little lost. Can someone explain o make a little guide on how to do it please.

What are the accessories to buy.

Which cable to connect to which.

What type of switch to buy. Etc

It will be very useful for me and for many here in the forum.

Thank You
