so i started a WTB thread, but bringing it here too in hopes to get answers. Because i'm in california and have to smog the diesel every 2 years, i was hoping not to put the full S&B vcold air kit on. I don't want to have to remove it every so often for smog, and since i'm still under warranty, i was hoping to keep things more stock looking under the hood. Since the S&B turbo tube is shoved in the back and hard to see, i was thinking that part would be fine to replace if it mated to the stock airbox. then i saw the PPE boots and thought that the boot would definitely flow better then the accordion type tube. This would effectively keep the stock airbox (and sticker) and tubing would look mostly stock, while still having better flow.

i ended up purchasing the PPE kit for the resonator delete mixed with the new hoses. Still don't have the cold air tube that goes from box to turbo, but i feel like i've seen a difference in fuel economy than stock. been averaging 29-30mpgs when previously around 28-29. Could also be slightly cooler weather, but time will tell
