There is no screen on non AFM engines.

Well I just upgrade his engine for him to the newer style, don't know why I didn't see that it was an 06.

I have a 2011 Silverado that was sitting for about 6 months due to a bad transmission, I got the transmission fixed but after that I got the p0521 code I changed the sensor but the pressure slowly goes down to 0 after driving for about 15 mins I changed the oil but not the oil filter. Would that maybe fix the problem?

Many many posts on this problem in the archives. Watch the utube posted by maddog820 on Jan 6,good info there. It may be the orings on  the pickup tube are allowing the pump to suck air. Probably not the lifters so good call there. Some oils rapidly lose their viscosity so you may want to try changing brands of oil and filter, I like Castrol and ACDelco filters both available at Walmart

We may deal with the oil pressure loss on my friend's '10 Sierra 1500. The previous owner had the oil and filter changed late last year along with new brake pads and tires from 4Wheelonline and it was running good. Now, the pressure reading at 20-25 psi. Hope it's just the orings
