I have a 2022 new refresh sierra Duramax that had water get into somewhere it wasn't supposed to be and fried some wire. "according to gmc service department" I think he said inter cooler but wasn't forthcoming with info. Said it couldn't be driven and that GMC wanted the bad parts to determine what happened.  Assuming this is normal.

They said the parts are on back order, its been 2 weeks.  Has anyone had a similar experience with back ordered parts? How long did it take and what is a reasonable time to wait?  I called and checked again today and they had no update, just parts are on back order.

They offered me a mid-sized sedan as a loaner but I need a truck for my job so i declined and borrowed my Dad's truck.  He wants it back, should they give me a loaner of like size?

Lots of backordered parts for cars and trucks, especially Duramax diesels. I have heard/read about 2 or 3 month wait for diesel tank heaters. (Search this forum for more info).
