Found an awesome 2012 Sierra today. 6.2 motor has high miles (190k) but a new trans 30k ago along with some other work.

I really like the truck but I jumped too soon. Spent 14k. Trucks are so insanely hot here I just didn’t want to lose out, especially since he knocked it from 15 to 14. It was the first 6.2 I’d seen in months.

Welcome to the forum.  I don't think you got a bad deal in this current time unless she's rotted out underneath.

These 6.2 trucks are awesome.  Post up pics and what are your plans for it?

I'm always watching for them.

Depends on who’s buying and why. If my grandson or granddaughter asked me about it I would say pass. I would give them a couple of Ks to add to it and tell them to buy a new cheap Mazda 3 or similar vehicle. If it was super clean as is presented. Grandpa would buy it and sell the avalanche.

My kids would walk if they couldn't drive a full-size GMCs!  LOL

Even tried to entice them into an Avalanche or Tahoe, no dice, they saved up for 6.2 Sierras.

I’ve owned every type of vehicle. My avalanche is my favorite. It’s a pickup, no it’s an SUV, no it’s a Suburban, no it’s all the above. A 6.2. You could get one with an 8.1. What’s not to like?

They call it, "smiles per gallon".  They pay for most of it, Dad still helps them out from time to time.

The Avalanche is cool but I wanted the 2nd row captain's chairs, 3rd row and covered rear so the Yukon XL is perfect for us.

I was actually talking about grandkids. My kids usually got their mothers vehicles as their first car. My oldest got her mothers toy. A Fiero GT. My second daughter was a questionable driver got a large ford then later her mother’s mustang. My son got his mother’s Z-28 with a warning. One ticket the ford for you. He drove it 3 years. At baseball games the dads would ask me what the hell man. Because their kids would say Stan Jr got a Z. I drove a pickup every day. It’s easier to drive a sports car learning than a truck, they roll over easy. My first car was a sports car. I’d probably would have rolled a hop up truck. That’s why my kids got cars, more stable. Nowadays they’re all probably ok with the nannies.
