Was installing some new running boards on my new to me 2022 Silverado 1500 the other day. One of the threaded mounting holes on the inner rocker panel has stripped out. Some of the threads look to be missing or sheared off. Does anyone know if these threaded holes are replaceable? Looks like there is a threaded nut or something behind the sheet metal that the mounting hardware threads into. Attached is a picture of the holes i'm referring to. Thanks for the help.

I believe they are a welded on nut. There's no way to access them without cutting holes in the sheet metal. I'd buy a tap that's the right size and re-thread the nut. If it's too stripped out, go up one size and buy the appropriate bolt.

I believe these welded nut were never installed when the cab was built. There is a solution but would be hard to explain on here but I’ll try.  You can use a nut that has wings or ears welded to it slide it in the slot using a longer bolt than normal. Make sure there is a good JB weld epoxy on the ears so you can set the nut where you want it. Cure it for 24 hours. You are only doing this to be able to start the bolt when you bolt your bracket to the cab. Once it’s started the wings on the nuts will hold it in place as you tighten it down. If I remember right the bolts are a 13 mm head with 8mm x1.25mm thread I could be wrong on that size. I’ve run into this before on other projects and I’ve made it work. Find a hood fabricator in your area. Show him this post more than likely if he is experienced fabricator he will know what I’m talking about. I hope this helps . Hit me back and maybe I can find some pics of what I’m talking about.

Or just use a nutsert tool and put one in the correct size.
