2023 Silverado Z71 RST 5.3L.

So my right front turn signal started to go through a cycle where it flashes three times normally then goes into fast flash.  During fast flash there is no light as seen from the outside (not working).  The indication on the dash is "Check Right Front Turn Signal"

After restarting the truck and it is now no longer an issue.  I was ready to change a burned out bulb...but apparently that's not the cause.

What would cause this as I am not convinced anything can fix itself?

Thanks

Could be a shorted bulb or an intermittant. The quickest and easiest thing to do is to replace the bulb and inspect the connection if you can replace the bulb on your RST. Replacing the bulb on my Custom is hard to reach.

Pretty much same here.  Feels like I need to fix something, however I did find it that the turn signals are controlled by the BCS so maybe something just reset itself??

So you scanned it and found nothing. Restarted it and it worked.

This is somewhat of a common occurrence at the moment.  2022.5 and 2023 1/2 ton and 2024 HD with the full LED headlights.  GM has been finding it to be something simple as the headlight needs to be unplugged and plugged back in, or its been replacing the affected headlight assembly or wiring terminal issues at a different connector point in the truck.

We've had 3 trucks do this.  Two of them was just a headlight connection issue, the third one got a new headlight assembly.  All 3 trucks it was the right front.

Loose connection can cause intermittent fault.

Connector not fully snapped together.

Pin not fully seated in connector.

'Cold' solder joint

I think the odd part of this is that it shows a a failure upon the first right turn of the day and doesnt "fix itself"  while the truck is running.  Shutting the truck down and restarting will limmediately fix the issue and it stays "fixed"  during driving until the next time. Hard to believe a bad connection would behave this way....but maybe it does.

As a follow up to this...... the dealer replaced the multi- function switch (assuming its the turn signal stalk on the left) and it hasnt happened since.

So i had my 2022.5 at the dealers today for a faulty right side headlight. The dealer did a reflash and said that it fixed the issue. Me in a rush to get home didn't check it a the dealer and when i got home it didn't work so now i am waiting for a headlight assembly from GM and according to them it's on a nationwide backorder!  Has anyone been able to figure out what is causing these issues? I am concerned with driving at night because cops are just looking for an excuse to pull people over and of course it's a safety issue as well.
