Hired Goon Posted July 25, 2023 Posted July 25, 2023 I have acquired a new set of 17 inch gm steel wheels and good year tires for free. They're 17 x 7.5 inch wheels and 265/70R17 tires. From what I've read on the web these will not fit my truck and the only difference I can find is they're17x 7.5 inch and my 2018 gmc sierra SLE uses 17x8 inch. I would like to use these for the salted winter roads and save my alloys. Will these work

The 265 width is a plus one size. Shouldn't rub anything. But pull a front a check. Stud torque is 140 pounds/ft.
TheRiver Posted July 28, 2023 Posted July 28, 2023 IMHO; the steelies are more easier to care for than any other rim type!!! Simple and dependable are more gooder; than fancy and a slave to, in order to keep looking nice.

Hired Goon Posted July 28, 2023 Author Posted July 28, 2023 Thanks for the replies Bolt pattern and hub are all good, I tried one on the back I will try one on the front to make sure it's not rubbing. My spare is 265/70R17. Like I mentioned the only difference is, i think, the 08 to 13 had 7.5 inch width then they switched to 8 inch width from 14 up, As said I think Not sure what year Sierra they came off I'm like a racoon I like shiny things including wheels, the alloys are not hard to clean with ceramic wax coating on them.
