My little joke about the check plug comes from seeing so many comments on videos or comments sections claiming that its a drain plug .... and what is actually the fill plug on the side of the transmission is the level plug. Yes, people that claimed they knew what they were doing way over filled their transmission.
Indeed if I could round up the correct bung and plug setup I certainly could find a shop to tig weld it. I know those install yourself drain plug kits are available where one drills the hole through the pan and installs the assembly but it sticks up inside the pan and would not want that to interfere with the filter and it won't allow for a complete pan drain like a properly designed bung would.
Oddly enough one of the main local parts suppliers no longer seems to have the Dorman pan in their system, I can only speculate that they were not selling them for the price they were charging and pulled the product, I would have to drop in and ask to see if I was curious enough about what happened with that.
I've been using this product in Dizzy now on here second batch and changing at 3,000 miles as well. I'm fairly certain the bores are toast but thought I'd give it a shot. Nothing to loose, right?
I was recently given a cheap winch for my trailer and I’m going to build a front receiver hitch so that I can use it on my truck also. It is a 13,500lb Sinoking winch with synthetic rope and wireless remote. It is mounted on a Badland hitch mount. The lower plastic was removed from my truck several years ago when I built a custom tube framed skid plate for it. The hitch will be tucked up close to the bumper and hopefully I can add a 2” square tube to the back of the skid plate to fit it into the hitch to hide the hitch when it’s not being used. More pictures to come.
Hi All,
I am curious whether using the dashboard display for transmission fluid temperature is considered acceptable when setting the transmission fluid level after a pan drop, filter replacement, and fill. I have a 2021 gas/6L90. Thanks
