'HOOD OPEN' warning with new latch

I was getting intermittent HOOD OPEN notices on the DIC in my 2008 Sierra 1500. I replaced the hood latch and the notice was still intermittent but became more and more frequent to the point that it now is a permanent "HOOD OPEN" alarm. I checked and cleaned the ground to the frame at point G101-no change.

I suspect a wire has been rubbing somewhere between the switch and the BCM but I don't know where the wires run. Do they run through the main fuse box or an auxiliary fuse/junction box? It's getting cold and I need my remote start. TY.
