Hey guys,

I have a 22 LT 4X4 crew cab with the 2.7 Turbo.

The transmission has been shift really hard. Had it in For warranty twice. First time they said it was normal, the last time the perfomed the service bulletin and flushed and refilled the trans fluid, and did a software update.

They told me to give it 750 miles for fluid break in. Im about 500 miles in, with no positive results. It continues to hard shift.

Has anyone had this issue resolved? If so what did they do to fix it?

I’m planning to try a different dealer after the 750 miles to see if they have something to try.

I travel often for work and shouldn’t have to be worried that this truck is going to leave me stranded. As much as I don’t want to, I may think about trading it for another brand.

This is common with the eight speed transmissions! Especially in the cold weather.

Not “normal” - but a common issue with the troubled 8spd.

Sorry you're having issues. I have just over 95,000 miles on my 2022 LTD 8 speed 2.7 and its been honestly great for me. Smooth and quick shifting.

I have had the transmission fluid and filter serviced twice now, once around 50,000 miles and again just recently.

Hope you get it resolved.

I watched your youtube regarding fluid and filter change for your Colorado. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think you mentioned you have had the transmission fluid and filter service at a local mechanic. Any reason you didn't do it by yourself if it is right?

I do everything for the most part on my Canyon myself because that's my personal vehicle and it saves money.

My Silverado is a company truck, and I get all the service, maintenance and repairs reimbursed. So it doesn't cost me anything. I also didn't have the time to get the trans work done myself, so I just use my local shop.

I thought there might be some technical difficulties with Silverado compared to Colorado. Thank you.

Not that I know of. It should be roughly the same process as far as I know.
