2013 Chev Silverado 1500 WT 5.3L V8 Flex Fuel 4WD Reg Cab Long Bed

Taking my "new to me" truck in for oil/filter change, lube and tire rotation.

Question is about lube. Everything I have come across online points to lube points/grease fittings only on the tie rod ends. Some sources indicate on trucks with a sliding drive shaft joint there also may be a third lube point/ grease fitting.

Would my truck having a sliding drive shaft coupling requiring lube? Are there other lube points/grease fitting locations I have not found out about?

Pretty much you only have the tie rod ends. I've never seen a grease point on an aluminum driveshaft.

 

Aftermarket ball joints or control arms usually have grease points but you'd have to look for yourself to see what you got. And honestly so many places never grease anything unless you actually ask, so it's on you to make sure they really do it.

When I was in retail automotive maintenance I lubed every grease point, I came out of USAF vehicle maintenance and trust me we did our maintenance because GIs don't like fixing things they maintain and we don't like fixing stuff twice. Get yourself under that truck and figure out where your grease fittings are, lube them according to the GM charts or more often, wipe off the fittings and clean off the excess grease, that way it stays off your clothing.
