Ebay LED 3rd brake light (Resistor needed?)

I bought one of these to replace my busted stock one on my 05 Silverado and the bed lights stay on constant. Does anyone know if these need a resistor added to worklike normal and if so what specs? Thanks in advance.

The white bed light is staying on, not the brake light? Does the brightness of the bed light change when the brake is applied? 

 

Resistor should not be needed for the bed light. Sounds like you have some sort of electrical issue. Does the brake light operate normally? By normally I mean no running light, it's completely off until you hit the brakes. And does the brake light do anything when you run turn signals or hazards? I feel like voltage is jumping between wires somewhere maybe

Brake light is completely off and the bed light doesn't seem to get any brighter with the switch on or not. No wierd flashing either. I'll have to trace wires or look at the switch then. Someone else I know said there was an issue with the switch sometimes on these trucks having problems.
