breckert Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 has anyone encountered a reoccurring p0106 and p03400. The truck is a 2011 5.3 flex fuel. So far I have changed plugs, valve cover gaskets, maf sensor, map sensor, intake manifold gasket, and cleaned throttle body to know avail. I have checked all lines and can't see leaks and am getting proper signal from map sensor. Maf seems to be working as well. It only stumbles when entering v4 mode. When the cylinders deactivate the fuel trims go to +10 through positive 20. Not sure if that's the cause of the p106 or a symptom of. In v8 it is fine. Hate to ask all this but I replaced the frame a year and a half ago and now Its been trouble free till now. ff data when p0106 pops up is Fuel sys 1 - cl Fuel sys 2- cl Calc load -32.2% Ect- 194°f Stft b1- 14.8% Ltft b1-4.7% Stft b2-15.6% Ltft b2-5.5% Fuel pres-43 psi Map-16 in hg Rpm-1106 Vehicle speed- 47mph Spark adv- 37° iat- 48°f Maf- 1.76 lb/min Tps-23.5 % Run time 1545(sec)

redvett Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Here's some information about MAP sensors: When the ignition is on, the MAP sensor output should be around 5 volts. When the engine is off, the MAP sensor should read ambient pressure. When the engine is idling and under light load, the absolute engine working pressure (vacuum) is unchanged by elevation. A good engine idle pressure is 27 kPa. The normal pressure range of a MAP sensor is between 1 and 4 bar. If the MAP reading was at idle it should be around 7.9731 inches mercury

breckert Posted February 1, 2024 Author Posted February 1, 2024 Well I think I fixed the problem not sure, fingers crossed though. I bought a second higher quality intake manifold gasket and replaced it again. Also replaced the oil pressure screen and originally when I did the intake gasket the first time I noticed the vlom bolts where loose. I re-tightend them to the torque spec of 18 ft pounds. After wondering about the vlom gasket being compressed and wether or not that's why the bolts were loose, when I had the intake off I tightened the vlom bolts over spec to 25 foot pounds. Don't know which one of those three helped but it seems to of cleared the symptoms.
