2011 Silverado LT 128K

auto started truck this morning.  no issues.  hopped in drove a few miles.  stopped and got out to get a coffee.  wouldn't remote start - noticed drive door wasn't shut all the way.  shut door - auto started just fine.  got coffee went to get in truck and I couldn't open drive door.  locks work with fob.  went to use key in lock and lock felt frozen (1* this morning)  didnt turn much.

hopped in passenger side and slid over.  drove 25 minutes to work.  same thing - can't open.

any ideas?  would a frozen lock cause this even though the lock pops up and down on the door?  how to fix if the cable broke?  with door shut?

thanks

i noticed that there is a small panel to the front of the inside door handle.  its maybe 2"x1" - is that some sort of an access panel?   I am at work or else i'd investigate more

Nope, just a bolt cover.

Door panel removal is pretty easy - a youtube video would explain it easiest.

door is currently shut - no way to remove panel.  there are some videos on how to torque it out of the way - but I don't want to risk breaking panels they are not currently available unless i pay $$$$$

I agree, anyway to get into a heated garage for a few hours or overnight? Maybe ask your local garage if they can put it inside for the nite for you

it was froze shut.  i am all set.   just was weird how the lock actuator worked - seemed like everything was moving properly, yet it wouldn't open.

anyway - thanks for the tips.  learned a new one on this one.
