I put a factory order in for a 2024 Canyon Denali in January of 2024 at my local dealership, was told I would be able to keep track of the pickup truck using a order number, I have not received a order number and I called the dealership asking about the pickup of course they have no idea. I look online and find out that no 2024 Canyon Denali are not on any dealership lots? If anyone has any information about this please let us know. Thanks

Did you get a printout with your build when you ordered?  If they submitted and had allocation for a Denali, they should have been able to generate an order # for you and your status code should be 1100 which is order placed/preliminary accepted.

If you don't have an order number or a code status, they don't have allocation and are waiting for one.  Status 2000 would be order accepted and you'd have a truck within 10-15 weeks of that point roughly.

I'd try and get in touch with whoever does the vehicle ordering at the dealer so probably new car manager and see if they can help.

Thanks for the information, I will definitely check with the new car manager, it’s been a little over a month since I put in the order. I can’t understand why GM is putting out ad,s for 2025 trucks when they have customers waiting for 2024s? Thanks again.

I saw an article about the 2024 Chevy Colorado not being shipped from the factory to the dealerships? does anyone know why and it must be affecting the GMC canyons as well?

I just saw the news about the 2024 Chevy Colorado and a Canyon being held up at the factory and not being delivered to dealers because of various issues? Hey GM I have a idea, instead of just stopping deliveries on all of the colorado’s and canyons, Pay some overtime to the good people at the factory, and work on the customer orders first, make customers happy? I for one don’t want to wait until who knows when for a truck I ordered in January.

The holdup is a software issue.

When the dealer entering the order into the system it automatically generates an order number and defaults to event code 1100, preliminary order accepted (by the order system, no input errors).  Until the dealer receives an allocation and applies it to the order, it will sit at event code 1100 forever.

Placing an order with a dealer is NO guarantee it will be produced. The dealer has to get GM to accept the order. Dealers are awarded allocations based on prior sales and other factors such as constrains on production. The dealers know how many they will be allocated but that does not stop them from pre-selling more units than allocated. For instance, a dealer knowing they got 2 allocations over the next 2 months for a Canyon Denali can presell 10. They are under no obligation to disclose their allocations, and many will bs customers in hopes to sell you something else. Never trust the word of a salesman, you are just a $ sign to them.

Thanks for all the process codes, I’ve  yet to receive any from GM. Yesterday I went back to the dealership and spoke to the new car manager, he basically told me to keep a eye on my email for a GM factory code telling me my truck order from the dealer is accepted, and I should be able to keep track of it that way. I saw today that the 2024 colorado’s in canyons are being delivered to dealership? I hope GM got the bugs worked out of the electrical problems on informant system. Thanks again

Hello to all that have been waiting for the 2024 GMC Canyon Denali like I was ( I put in a factory order in January) I never received a order number, on the 6th  week I called my local dealership, was told it could take months before I hear anything from the factory. I asked if I found a 24 canyon Denali at another dealership online if they could get it for me? I was assured by the sales person that they could, and that he would keep looking as well. I found a 2024 GMC Canyon Denali, exactly like the one I ordered. The dealership was a 5 hour drive away from my home. I texted my local dealer, gave him the vin. Number the dealership number. I was texted back ( great let me see what we can do) never heard back from my local dealership. I called the other dealership, talked with a sales representative, put a hold on the Canyon, drove the 5 hours and drove back in my 2024 GMC Denali, on March 8th 2024. I’ve  put 2500 miles on the truck so far, I really like everything about the truck. Thanks

Great Phil, that is what i tell everyone. Don't get married to one dealer. You are buying the truck, not them! In your case it doesn't sound like they were helping you out so move on and get what you want!

Most dealers are living day to day and are mostly interested in selling whats on their lot.  They make NO MONEY on an ordered vehicles till it built and delivered to them for sale, they have no control over GM's production schedules. So they really don't worry about those because they have sales goals to meet. I know a salesman (ret) for over 25 yrs at GMC/Buick/Cadillac dealer, he was asst sales manager and he confided in me that the salesmen hate to deal with orders because it cuts into their time on the sales floor/lot.   So while you are talking to a salesman about placing an order, in the back of his mind he can't wait till you leave so he can selling whats on the lot and make his quota for the week/month or he will lose his job.    Since I bought my 2021 Sierra in Dec of 2020 my local dealer has completely changed over the sales staff, several were demoted to service advisors on their way out the door.

I have a question about the informant screen on the dash of a 2024 canyon Denali. Can someone explain to me why the screen went completely black after I already drove the truck to a doctors appointment, andto another store, and when I was in reverse backing out of a parking space the screen went black? I drove home like that thinking about what had happened to the 2023s canyons when GM tried to update the system. I thought also about a YouTube I saw where a guy had a new 2023 canyon and was told to remove the fuse cover and make sure all the fuses were properly pushed in. ( I did that ) pushed in all the fuses at least twice ( some were barely loose) I started the truck and the screen came back on? Why would GM have a glitch like that? And what makes the fuse come loose? I just hope this isn’t the start of more computer problems? I’ve  had the truck for a month, this is the first real problem I’ve had. Just a update, Thanks
