Replaced the battery in a 2016 Sierra and the temp guage on the dash is reading 32 degrees outside when it is 90 degrees.  Switched from english to metric and it went to 0.  Switched back and still 32.  How can it be corrected.  Was working fine before the battery exchange.

It just takes a little while before it begins reading the proper temperature. IT has some kind of delay when it gets reset like changing the battery. Go for a drive and I would bet it will start showing the proper temperature.

You didn't say, have you driven it? It's my understanding that even when it's working and you have an outside temp displayed, then turn it off for a while,  it will show the last temperature when you start it up again & won't reset until driven for more than 5 mins at over 35 mph. Strange

Here is a thread I started a while back when I experienced the same thing. There is a lot of detailed info in it.
