Anyone linked their cellular services to someone BESIDES GM?

I seem to recall that the cellular radios in the vehicles operate on the ATT network, and there was a way to have ATT (or another provider that uses their network) provide the data services and you could tie it to your own cell plan.

 

Has anyone done this? What's the process? Since there isn't a place for a SIM card, it would seem that you have to do some sort of eSIM connection or similar... If anyone has had success in doing this and could share the general process, I'd appreciate it.

I believe that you just need to go to AT&T with your VIN and they can activate it.

Thanks... Does anyone know if you -have- to have ATT specifically, or will it work through MVNO's and similar that resell the ATT services and use their network?
