Vibration at Interstate Speeds

I have a Brand New 2024 Denali Ultimate Sierra (6.2L 10 Speed) experiencing high vibration on day 1.  I picked up from out of town dealer on Saturday and took to Tire Store same day.  They checked balance and stated OK.  GMC Dealer checked and replaced both front break rotors.  Still have vibrations.  GMC Dealer checked tire balance and stated they were not balanced and the Tire Store got it wrong.   The truck still vibrates at highway speeds. Any suggestions?  This is a very expensive truck and rides rougher than my 2019 Silverado LTZ with 6.2 L and 10 Speed.

my issues is the smoothest roads with the truck at steady hwy speed vibrates, on rougher road it isn't noticeable because of the road, for me only above 68 mph all the way up to the speed limiter. Ver

I'm 90% sure it is the front axles.

Vibration all over or is it one side?

 

The drive shaft usually needs to balanced after it is made.  You would see one or more pieces of metal welded to the shaft… perhaps one or all were knocked off the shaft or improperly spot welded:

Keep  taking it back to dealership.  You may be able to invoke the lemon law and get it replaced.

Both sides experience the vibration.

I'm experiencing the same issue with my new Denali Ultimate. I just picked it up last Friday and it's showing the exact symptoms that have been described here. I took it back to the dealership and they told me it was a tire balance issue. However, after getting it back on Saturday, I still felt vibrations when I reached highway speeds of 65/70. I returned to the dealership today and they said they would need to investigate further. They gave me another Denali Ultimate as a loaner (it's brand new with only 12 miles on it), but the loaner vehicle is also experiencing the same issue.

I am experiencing the same issue with a 2024 Sierra 1500 Denali ultimate. I've gotten the wheels balanced twice and the vibration persists at highway speed. How was yours resolved?

Hi thanks for you concern.   I am not sure how emailing the social media department is going to help in getting this resolved.  Given my experience with GM and trying to solve these things, I don't have the time to waste at dealers for them just to tell me it is normal.  I have owned many new Chevrolet vehicles over the last 20 years and am very aware of how the service departments work when warranty work is involved.     

 

 

For those who follow this post for usefule information, I have a theory.   Since the wheel/tire location makes no difference and it seems like this vibration, at least on my truck is pretty centrally located, I am willing to be that the front axle shafts/joints are somehow out of balance.

You are probably getting close.   Most drive shafts are balanced at factory where they are made.   The small thin steel weights are added to the shaft to balance it.   Check your drive shaft to see if you can see an outline of where a balance weight used to be… or maybe it was never balanced.   The quality of most post covid vehicles has not yet gotten back to the pre covid vehicles.

Sorry, I wasn't clear.  I am referring to the front half shafts since mine is a 4WD truck.  Driveshaft seems fine.

 

I agree, i had a 2022 refresh before this and the day i brought this home I noticed many things that I can't see how they got past quality control.   Door gaskets hanging off the door, not snapped into the holes in the door, dirt under the paint in various spots, loose and clunky driver seat, etc etc..  My last truck was an LT with cloth and jump seat, this one is leather with center console.  I had no issues with the driver seat on the other one.  As a matter of fact, aside from the bad software for the radio that was problem early on with all the refresh, I never had a single complaint with the last truck.    

 

I agree, for the price we pay for these vehicles, the quality should be much higher.

 I am having the same issue with my 2024 Sierra Denali Ultimate.  They said it was a bad tire and replaced, but the truck is still vibrating.  Not sure where to go from here.  It is exactly like the original posters video.  The seat keeps on shaking!

      In the 80's 90's I'd run Honda's 7,500 miles between changes using Red Line HP 5W20 and do it for hundreds of thousands of miles with issues. Back in the day it was an SAE 20 with the HTHS of a SAE 30 and SN add load. It was also very polar. Oxidation VOA was over 120. Besides those motors were SPFI and lean burn tech. I could have likely run it longer but never did.    We had a Toyota bought new I ran on Pennzoil's latest and greatest synthetic of the day with "Penthane". A made up word for a very low dose of PAO. Tried 7,500 mile OCI's in that Group III/VI chemistry and the rings tapped out at 90K. Rocker box wasn't as bad as the one Punch put up but it wasn't good either. Also a SPFI motor.    I'm around 3,750 across the board on these GDI monsters and the oil it tapped out by then usually on TBN/TAN crossover and color. Red Line HP Euro.    The AMSOIL SS brochures tell you to follow the OEM values for the service class but that it can be run up to 25K if monitored. I can't imagine what motor could go that distance and not tap out. I've never owned one.    Yes, I know. Lot's of people do. I'm just not going to be one of them.

      I knew a guy in the early 80's that bought a new Monte Carlo and ran it a 100,000 miles without ever changing the filter or the oil. Just kept adding. It looked like that inside.

      Good evening. I was lucky enough to get passed down to me a 2007 GMC LBZ that was my great uncle's. While the underside and rockers are more or less gone I feel like with time I can restore it to working order since it only has 110,000 miles and he put nearly every option he could get without getting the new body style since he did not trust DEF. So far I have done everything I can think of but when I put the key into the ignition nothing happens. I put 2 brand new batteries in it. Cleaned the terminals. Check all the fuses and relays and they all pass with my multimeter. I know I'm missing something that I just cant think of. The only odd thing is the OBD2 port works which makes me think its not the mega fuse. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

      Looks nice. I still have my 2000, 1500. Bought a 2025, 1500 for retirement. Feels solid. These trucks have a bad rap on the internet. My brother has a `24 1500, 5.3 with 52,000 miles. No problems at all. Mine hasn`t either but mine`s only at 12,700 miles. Have seen some of these things with 100,000 miles with no problems.

      Howdy! New to the forum of course! My name is Casey, just picked up a 2024 high country midnight edition. First “new” truck in 24 years for me. Driving a 1998 Z71 since 2002. Have been on the GMT400 forum with lots of good info and help there. Nervous about driving these newer trucks and all their electronics…. Did a lot of work on the Z71 myself over the years. New truck is definitely a nice upgrade after 24 years. Photo of the old and new, still keeping the Z71 - has 320,000 miles on her and still running well!
