my issues is the smoothest roads with the truck at steady hwy speed vibrates, on rougher road it isn't noticeable because of the road, for me only above 68 mph all the way up to the speed limiter. Ver

I'm 90% sure it is the front axles.

For those who follow this post for usefule information, I have a theory.   Since the wheel/tire location makes no difference and it seems like this vibration, at least on my truck is pretty centrally located, I am willing to be that the front axle shafts/joints are somehow out of balance.

You do understand that this problem has been on-going for over 10 years now. Started with the 2014 models, you can find literally hundreds of threads about shake/vibration issues with many fighting all the way to complete buy-back or replacement. I mean i get your here to help but please do not fill customers heads with false hopes, like i said 10 years this has been an issue meaning GM has 0 intentions of making it right and not only that, the customer who is paying a bank note on a 65+k truck will have to fight his dealership tooth and nail to get any satisfaction.

 

 Facts are GM knows very well this is an issue and has continued to build it into every truck they have made over the last decade plus, some people are just not as sensitive to it, but all dealers after replacing part after part will eventually throw their hands up into the air and essentially quit on the customer and tell them it is normal. My guess is it is either tire/rim or drive shaft related and most if not all dealers will avoid replacing those items. OEM tires are all @#@# imo, i wouldn't doubt if you have that tire store put all new michelins on that truck at of course 3-400 per tire, the vibration would be greatly reduced if not eliminated entirely. As other have said replacing the drive shaft has solved the issue for others over the years here, good luck with it as you will need it.

Two different trucks.  2014-2018 is K2XX platform which was a warmed over GMT-900 platform.

 

T1XX for 2019-current is an entirely new platform.  Vibration causes and concerns on a T1 won't be the same as a K2 truck, so can't really stand on the whole "problem going on for 10 years" here.  

 

I had a K2 2019, never had any vibrations.  I now have a 2022.5 T1, zero vibrations.

Did you read the thread i posted on first page? i have thrown quite a bit of $ and time on my 23 and could not get it fixed or find issue because dealer said exactly as you stated "could not duplicate" and charged me $77 diagnosis fee, i gave up and bought a 24 as a last resort guess what same issue. 

I felt it in the armrest and seat bottom on both trucks above 70 mph on highway.

Does anyone notice this happening more on the passenger side?  To me it feels like I am constantly going over many small bumps on the road.  The main thing I constantly see is the passenger seat vibrating which cannot be normal.

Put a half full bottle of water in the cupholder and watch the ripples going down highway on the smoothest road

Very minor but very annoying probably why many people do not realize it is doing it. Traveling south for several hundred miles during the night becomes very noticeable.

I've got the same issue with vibration at highway speed on my new 2024 Sierra 1500.  I had just put new winter tires and wheels on when I noticed the vibration, and just got back from the tire shop where they rebalanced two of the wheels.  However, the vibration is still occurring.  I didn't notice the vibration with the stock tires and wheels, but now I'm using 4WD Auto now (we have snow here), which I wasn't using with the stock tires and wheels.  I'll have to see if the vibration still occurs when I switch back to 2WD, and if so, it's off to the dealer.

I've been fighting the same issue on my 2023 Sierra 1500 Ultimate w/ 6.2. I changed out the OEM 22's with a different set of OEM 22's and went with the slightly wider Michelins and am still have the issue. I have had the tires balanced by the tire dealer where I bough the new tires, the GM dealer 2 times and I paid for another place to balance them and still have a vibration at around 65/70 MPH. It seems there is something else going on somewhere.

The bottom line is, if you are experiencing this issue, it is a bunch of crap for a 90K truck to be riding like this.  I feel like this is going to go the lemon law route, but I am not sure how difficult vibrations are to prove for lemon law cases.  If you were to ask me now if I could get out of my truck and get my money back, I would be willing to take a 2K loss just to get out of it with 2000 miles on my 24 ultimate.  This will be the last time I buy a vehicle before testing ride quality on the expressway. I booked another appointment at the dealership this Friday.  They have already replaced one tire saying it was bad.  Did not fix a thing.

      I tried before I updated the scan tool just incase an update messed it up, but it never worked so I updated the scan tool and it still didn't work.   Only difference is I click on Sierra not Chevrolet cause I have a Sierra.   If I click on 2026-2024 I didn't have any option to change placard, when I click on 2023 it does give me the option but when I try to do it,.it says vehicle not supported!   I have my region or market or whatever it is set to America I think, is that what yours is set to?

      Its just that it worked on 2024 trucks on this forum and my 2025 model truck, unless GM did something since that point to screw up access or Autel has a bad update. I haven't had need to use my tool since last year when I did the changes to the placard pressure settings and since then I updated the software on my Autel but have not plugged into the OBD so hard to say if I would get a surprise as well.    All I know last year when I bought the Autel I was warned to be sure to update it before I tried using the unit as they said who knows how long ago unit itself was actually manufactured as the software could be way out of date.

      And so you had gone through the process of registering and updating the tool and so on ?. All I can say is that on the front page as the tool fires up you go to advanced mode, then vehicle model comes up and you choose Silverado ( not the DRW or EV  since your a single rear wheel ) , then I think its choice 2 which is 07/2021 - 12/2026 ( 433mhz 13542523 ) as that is the series of tpms sensors and then go down to choice 5 which is tire type/pressure selection. Hit yes and it says to connect to OBD port and turn ignition on.    Having said this, I updated the software in my tool lately and these year range choices look different from the past due to them doing some updates it would appear and I have not connected up to the OBD port since last year so hopefully I am not in for a surprise with them screwing up the software and that it won't work on my truck anymore either.    So my question is, when you plugged into the OBD and started your truck it had that message on the Autel screen "vehicle not supported" ?. That does seem odd as tire shops would be pissed right off if hey can't use their tool on the model year after mine that in theory is supposed to be much the same truck ... unless GM did some change in the computer system to block certain things from access.

      Understanding and using modern scan tools is its own body of knowledge. I had little hope that would work...programming access to the BCM is probably required and that is not easy for us consumers. Expensive scan tool, GM programming subscription, online authentication, etc.   It also may be a matter of finding the right dealer to program it for you. Flashing a modern BCM might be a little too advanced for most tire shops.

      Update for anyone following:    Installed everything as shown in diagram. Opted for 8 AWG from Battery Positive to a 50A resettable inline breaker. 8 AWG is tied into to 2x 12 AWG wires feeding a 6 way fuse bus in parallel (manufacturer’s design of what I purchased).    4 of the 6 fuses available for circuits are tied to terminal 30 of each relay. I tied a jumper from one of my spare circuits off the bus to terminal 86 of each relay. The trigger, terminal 85, was pulled from my interior by way of T-Taps from the X61A-X5 pins 10, 11, 17 and 23. This was the hardest part of the job. Even with the X61A unbolted and the X5 removed - there was VERY little wiggle room.  I added back up lights that I want to come on with my cargo lamp - but when I would check continuity between S48A-X1 pin 18 to its respective landing point on the X61A-X5 it triggers the factory relay… Instead I opted for a add-a-fuse on the passenger interior fuse panel (fuse location 10 - cargo lamp) and ran it through the boot on the driver side to my load. Did this to avoid introducing any electrical gremlins.   Note: Please check for continuity between the S48A-X1 and the X61A-X5. In my case wire colours were not the same as other’s who have posted. To do a continuity check you need a Multimeter. Completely disassemble the S48A-X1 and remove the brown face plate off the X61A-X5 by way of a flat head screwdriver - this was the only way I could get any results.   The outputs, terminal 87 of the relays, were fed into a junction box and landed at Individual studs and were labelled Aux 1-4.    At this point, all you need to do is run wire to your loads and bring them to ground. I created a negative bus in the engine bay, all my negatives land here.    For anyone having issues with all of your new aux switch lights coming on with the press of one - I noticed this only to be an issue when the battery wasn’t hooked up to my relays? No idea why, but it was quickly corrected by having my system buttoned up and functional.
